“Should I schedule a Fresh48 Session and have photos taken in the hospital? Does the hospital already have a service that sends someone to our room to take photos? Should we plan a newborn session at home once we are discharged?”

Especially if you are having your first baby, you may not have answers to these questions until AFTER your baby arrives! Childbirth is amazing, but unpredictable. My advice is simple: find a photographer you love who will be flexible.

When a family books a newborn session with me, I always encourage them to hold all the plans loosely, because I will, too! Everything may work out perfectly, but you may also completely change your mind. My job is to be here and be available, whether that’s the day after you give birth or when your baby is 2-3 months old.

I delivered my Eden at St. David’s North and I had a lovely experience. I’ve also met new babies at Seton Main , Austin Area Birthing Center, and even photographed new babies after their home births! Wherever you choose to welcome your baby into the world, I would love to help you remember it.
